Monroe Mercy residents attended the Girlfriends and True Image VIP Conference on April 10th and 11th at the Word of Life Center in Shreveport, LA. Nancy Alcorn, Mercy Founder and President, was the featured guest speaker and Cindy Cruse-Ratcliff, Lakewood Church Senior Worship Leader, ministered through music.
“The VIP conference was an amazing experience where we felt like we were pampered from the moment we arrived until the final service!” said Mercy resident Tamara. “I loved Nancy sharing with us that ‘we were put on earth to save and love others!’ This really spoke to me. We had so much fun together, and I feel like the whole weekend experience just brought all of us closer to one another!”
This year’s conference was centered around a “VIP” theme and message, communicating to each attendee that she is a Very Important Person with a Very Important Purpose, whose Value Is Priceless.
Mercy resident Makayla said of her experience, “I loved this conference and loved the whole idea that I am a VIP in the eyes of God! I so loved that Nancy was there! The fact that this whole conference was all about women encouraging other women was so awesome to me! Basically, the whole weekend was all about how important we are to God!”

In addition to the Friday and Saturday sessions, the residents enjoyed a special luncheon hosted by True Image, a ministry founded by Pastor Lindsey Carr Bussey and dedicated to helping young women hear the voice of God and discover the beauty of who they are in Christ.
“The True Image luncheon was really awesome!” said Mercy resident Melanie. “I just felt so pampered all weekend! The church took such great care of us and made us feel very involved and very special. It was so much fun hearing Nancy speak. She was such a blessing! And, our worship leader was incredible! During worship, I literally felt like God was lavishing his love on me!”
Mercy is grateful for all the supporters and volunteers who make opportunities like this possible for the young women at Mercy. For more information on how you can get involved, visit www.MercyMultiplied.com.
