Before coming to Mercy, I was a cutter. I never grieved the loss of my dad, and I felt depressed and hopeless. Self-harm was my way of coping with my pain. The counselor I was seeing told me about Mercy. I wanted to walk with Christ, so I decided to apply.
While at Mercy, God has shown me that I am loved and beautiful. Jesus took my punishment, so I don’t have to punish myself. He has shown me I’m a new creation and that He’s always been with me, even in my toughest times.
After graduation, I am going back to school. I believe God has called me to be a police officer and do inner city ministry and prison ministry.
