Many new visitors attended Friends of Mercy luncheons this month at the Nashville, Sacramento and St. Louis Mercy homes. Nearly 200 guests from the respective regions came to learn more about the local and worldwide work and mission of Mercy.
Its mobile responsiveness makes the Application Portal more accessible and user-friendly.

Mercy Executive Directors Christy Singleton (U.S.), Nicola Bartel (Canada), and Arianna Walker (U.K.) met in California last Thursday as a part of a six-day trip that included strategic organizational planning, visits to the Sacramento and Surrey Mercy homes, and stops to visit ministry partners along the way.

Featured guest speakers Pastor Touré Roberts and his wife, Sarah Jakes-Roberts, shared a message of hope yesterday at the Nashville Mercy home. The couple leads One Church International, a progressive church community 80% comprised of artists and professionals in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles. Together the Roberts shared with Nashville Mercy residents the importance of being open to receive God’s love, forgiveness and redemption. Mercy announced today that top Christian artists Point of Grace, Michael Passons, and Ellie Holcomb will be featured praise and worship leaders for its fall premiere event The Freedom Experience held in Nashville at Christ Church October 2-3, 2015. Avalon’s Michael Passons will join Point of Grace to open the Friday evening session and Ellie Holcomb will lead worship segments during Saturday’s morning and afternoon sessions. Fiscal management of Mercy’s counseling program for girls ranks in top 2% percent of American charities

Outperforming 98% of American charities evaluated, Mercy has garnered another coveted rank from one of the nation’s premier charity evaluators. For the seventh consecutive year, Mercy has earned the four-star top distinction from Charity Navigator for its sound fiscal management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency.

Mark Stevens grew up in Tasmania, Australia and was a teen icon on the Australian hit television show Young Talent Time before falling into the deadly trap of drug and alcohol abuse. Mercy residents in all four U.S. homes recently had the opportunity to hear his inspiring story of transformation from a life of addiction to church leadership.
On Tuesday, May 5, 2015 Mercy took part in the regionally-sponsored, 24-hour online giving events The Big Payback (Nashville,TN) and Give STL Day (St. Louis, MO). Both events created a unique giving experience for Mercy donors, raising funds and awareness for Mercy’s mission while participating in a larger effort to promote philanthropy in the Nashville and St. Louis areas.

Residents at our Monroe home recently enjoyed a “Night of the Bayou” adventure with members of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church at the Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Monroe.
The annual outing included a brown bag dinner and an educational tour of the bayou led by a refuge ranger. Mercy residents learned about plants and animals native to the area.The Black Bayou—located in the Ouachita parish of Monroe, Louisiana—features a spectacular 1,600-acre scenic lake and a 4,500-acre refuge that supports a variety of waterfowl, migratory songbirds and other wildlife. Thirteen teams participated in the first annual Bowl for Mercy held in Chesterfield, MO at Brunswick Zone on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Meant to create awareness and generate support for the life-transforming work of Mercy, the event featured an inspiring address by a St. Louis Mercy graduate in addition to two hours of bowling.
Francis, 2014 Mercy graduate, welcomed the 80 Bowl for Mercy attendees and shared her personal story of how she was abused and sex trafficked during her childhood. This left her hopeless with no will to live.When Francis came to Mercy, she thought she would just “do her time” and then move on, but God had other plans.
