If you or someone you know is a young woman between the ages of 13 and 28 dealing with any number of life-controlling issues, Mercy has good news for you! Not only isMercy’s residential counseling program free, it’s now even easier to apply through the new online Application Portal.
Developed over the course of two years, Mercy’s Application Portal has streamlined the process for young women serious about getting help to be accepted into one of Mercy’s four U.S. homes.
Since its start in 1983, Mercy has served over 3,000 young women struggling with issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, physical and sexual abuse, sex trafficking, drug and alcohol addictions and unplanned pregnancy. Currently, the Mercy Intake Department reports over 700 girls in the application process.
“We have seen a significant increase in both the numbers of girls applying to Mercy, as well as how quickly a girl gets through the application process,” said Ashley MacLachlan, Mercy Director of Intake. “Young women who are committed and ready for healing are now entering the homes more quickly and are able to begin their transformational process sooner.”
Meant to make the process more user-friendly, the online portal is mobile responsive and allows a young woman needing help to complete the Mercy application at any time and on her own initiative. Applicants can access their portal accounts with individual log-ins and can then engage with Mercy counselors through a personalized messaging system to complete the necessary steps in the process. The portal even includes videos by Mercy graduates who give personal insight about the process and offer encouragement to those applying.
