From a very early age, I struggled with my identity and comparing myself with others. I felt like I could never measure up which led to a deep self-hatred. I was angry with myself and my family and got heavily involved in substance abuse. As I got older, I got involved in unhealthy relationships with men who sexually abused me. I heard about Mercy from my pastor and believed it was the best place to receive God’s help with my issues.

Since coming to Mercy, I know that God knows me personally, and He truly loves me. I believe He has a future full of good things for me. I am growing in His Word and it’s powerful and alive inside of me. I believe that God will do what He says He will do.

After graduation, I’m going to apply to colleges. I also plan to get more involved with my church and use my gifts for God’s glory. I really want to step out and reach others for Christ.
