Before I came to Mercy, I was sexually, physically and emotionally abused, which led me to believe that I was evil. I was full of shame and guilt and began to struggle with self-harm, addiction, and an eating disorder. I got involved in prostitution and eventually became suicidal. It seemed God wouldn’t let me die so I knew I needed to go to a place where I could learn how to live.
During my time at Mercy, I learned that God has loved me from the beginning. He accepts me just as I am. He has given me hope and grace, and I know He has a purpose and plan for my life.
After Mercy, I plan to go home and hope to eventually go back to school to pursue a degree in education. I would also love to get married and start a family someday!
