Throughout the months of July and August, the MercyTalk audience will get a special pre-event sampling of what’s to come at Mercy’s first-ever Freedom Experience to be held October 2-3 at Christ Church in Nashville.
MercyTalk listeners can expect to hear from several distinguished counselors and leaders within the Mercy organization, including Founder and President Nancy Alcorn, who will also be featured speakers at Mercy’s Freedom Experience in the fall. The seasoned group of professionals will present weekly segments leading up to the Freedom Experience, briefly outlining the seven keys to lasting freedom used for over 30 years in Mercy’s residential counseling program and most recently highlighted in Alcorn’s soon-to-be-released book Ditch the Baggage.
Last week Alcorn kicked off the new podcast series, introducing the first key to lasting freedom: Total Commitment to Freedom. Alcorn illustrated this principle through the transformational story of former drug addict and prostitute, Dee, and spoke about the importance of being fully committed to Christ as the starting point in overcoming painful life experiences.
This week, Melanie Carter, Mercy Director of Outreach, and Jen Otero, Mercy Transitional Care Manager, will continue the series with practical insight for another of the keys to lasting freedom: Healing Life’s Hurts. In coming weeks, several other special guests will unpack the remaining key principles: Choosing to Forgive; Renewing Your Mind; Breaking Generational Patterns; Conquering Oppression; and Maintaining Lifelong Success.
“We hope our MercyTalk audience will be inspired by what they hear in our podcast series and register to join us in person at the Freedom Experience.” said Carter. “We want to reach as many people as possible and help launch positive and lasting change in their lives.”
